Doesn't work well

We were so excited to get this for my daughter's science fair project. As soon as the batteries were in, we tried it, over and over, and started getting an annoying "error beep" After trying about 40 times, we realized it works maybe 2/10 times you try it. Having it directly on your skin seemed to be a factor (some of the time) but this won't be practical for the science fair. You could get a resting heart rate, but after she ran around the room, we tried to get another heart rate (after 3 tries) her heart rate had already slowed down. Bummer!

funand education for the whole family

The heart monitor was a Christmas gift to a bright 7 year old. Some gifts he sets aside for later. This monitor he opened and everyone in the family had to try. Folks, adults, in whom I would have never suspected an interest. Later he tried it on their dog. Didn't work.
I am old enough to remember when our hospital only had 2 O2 Sat monitors and they were borrowed all around the facility (one in neonatal and one in ICU). Now we have nearly the same thing at home to encourage furute medical students. I had told several coworkers bout the Smart Heart that I'd purchased, but had forgotten which website it came from...so now can tell them where to look-at Amazon.
