Something to grow with your baby
By Target Shopaholic
Watch Video Here: http://8.5str.info/review/R2VC4EB51OTL4J I bought this at a local toy store when my baby turned 6 months. For the first month after purchase, my baby didn't seem all too thrilled with it. She would mouth it from time to time but then move on to other toys. Then around 8 months, she started taking more notice of the different shapes and she would spend some time carefully examining each piece. At the time of this video, she was about 10 months -- now you can see that she likes to take each piece out, almost in a methodical fashion: take out, examine, discard, repeat. It's amazing how at each stage of development, she finds something new to do with these beads. She loves to hear the sound of her voice echoing as she "sings" into the bead. Sometimes she will offer me a bead to try myself =] Then there's the simple delight of clanging 2 pieces together for sound effect! Sometimes it's nice to give your child non-battery operated toys -- you never know how they'll use their imagination. I know that these beads will grow with her as she gets older. One day she'll learn to dump all the beads out or fill the bucket back up and even learn to connect the beads together to make fashionable necklaces/bracelets!
Side note about the scent: I guess it's vanilla scented but I didn't actually notice all that much. And so far, no problems with the holes & popping beads together!

BPA free
By Bee
I chose those pop beads above other brands because of their BPA free/phtalate free plastic. With babies chewing on everything it was a concern for me, and I'm glad to see Sassy making safer toys! :-) They do have a very strong smell when you first open the bucket, like another reviewer said "it smells like coconut suntan lotion", but the smell eventually fades away and is not a problem afterwards. Plus I think the smell actually prevented my baby from feeling like putting them in his mouth at first! ;-)
They are fun and brightly colored with different shapes and textures, some are a little too big for tiny baby hands but others are smaller and easier to grab onto. My little guy is now 2 and he still has a bit of a hard time popping them together by himself, they are a little hard at first but the more you use them the looser they get. My older son loves to make a person out of them (there are 2 pieces shaped like flowers that have several holes so you can take your "design" in different directions, instead of just making a huge snake...). This is a great basic toy. And a safe one! :-)

Developmentally FANTASTIC
By C. Tucker
We recently adopted a 2 year old daughter from China who is very delayed. An occupational therapist recommended snapping beads. We had so many choices to pick from and are do glad we chose these. These are our daughter's favorite toy. We love the bright colors, the high quality compared to others on the market, and the designs. I highly recommend to anyone, but in particular for newly adopted and developmentally delayed children
