special needs daughter loves it!

My daughter is severely delayed and doesn't typically hold onto items for very long. She loves this. She holds on most of the time with both hands (usually only one hand with everything else) and she just rolls the beads around. She also typically drops everything right away but she'll hold onto this for awhile. She startles easy and I was worried about how much noise this toy would be but when she rolls it around the bead sound is more calming rather than loud. We do not use it as the drum, so I have no input on that but she sure does love to hold onto this toy.

I have this in my toy room for the grandkids on a shelf and everytime they come over they reach for this Drum. They like the beads that roll around inside and the sound it makes. Also it has held up to some hard hits from a three year old! We vacation at the ocean and the sound of the waves are familiar to them, and they enjoy replicating that sound with this drum.

My son (8 months) is in physical therapy for hypotonia (low muscle tone). He LOVES this toy. Distracts him in even the most difficult excercises. He also loves to play peek-a-boo behind it. They had it at the PT office and I looked every where for it because he loved it so much there. Couldn't find it, so of course I went to Amazon, which has EVERYTHING! Definite favorite.
